In 2010, the Casa Ferreirinha repertoire was expanded to include a more affordable wine that sought to maintain the strong personality and nature of its predecessors.
The wines Papa Figos (Fig Eater) were created as a tribute to a small bird that nests in Ribeira de Aguiar during the spring, most precisely in Quinta da Leda. Just like the bird, whose bright yellow feathers catch the watcher’s eye, so does this wine persist in the memory of those who taste it. Through the indefinable art of illustration, we captured the liveliness and beauty of this bird, today imprinted on thousands of bottles. Along with its catchy name, this image, and therefore this wine, is what comes to mind to whomever might hear of “Papa Figos”.
